The official introduction of the Nike Kobe 10 “Silk” have finally surfaced, as this latest variation of Kobe Bryant’s tenth signature sneaker derives from the historical Silk Road trade route, which influenced cultural interaction through regions of the Asian continent towards the Mediterranean Sea during various periods of time.
During his childhood, Kobe Bryant lived in Italy, and now as an adult, has traveled to China intermittently. By linking this connection of East meets West, Nike designers utilized 1st century silk tapestries, which essentially references to the lucrative garment that influenced the Silk Road’s moniker as the source of the silhouette’s distinct palette. Overall flaunting a vibrant Merlot-colored hue across its base, tongue, laces and rear panels, bright Total Orange envelops its entire seamless upper, which evokes the luxurious “silk” fabric in a more modern approach.
All resting atop a tonal Zoom Air sole unit with hints of Merlot-colored speckling, finishing touches include a Gold Swoosh to complement its overall makeup. Look for the Kobe 10 “Silk” at select Nike stockists globally, starting March 21st for $180.
