Official images of the Nike KD 7 “Weatherman” have finally arrived, which essentially references to Kevin Durant’s fascination with meteorology.
A concept originally inspired by the Nike KD 4 “Weatherman” from 2011, the vibrant palette and weather-themed design continues with this latest iteration of the KD 7, as Emerald Green utilized for its entirety pays tribute to newsroom Green screens used by meteorologists. In addition, a doppler radar-inspired graphic adorns its Hyperposite heel, Swoosh and outsole to coordinate with the sneaker’s inspirational makeup.
Contrasting shades of Volt are further applied on its inner lining and logos, while Orange graces the laces, signature arching strap and outsole with the visible air bubble unit in the heel to embody a tropical-inspired palette, which also somewhat depicts how a tropical storm is viewed on a weather map though the usage of vivid tones.
Retailing for $150, the KD 7 “Weatherman” is expected to arrive at Nike retailers on March 5, alongside a coordinating t-shirt, hat and socks – each sold separately.
