The Nike Blazer was originally designed in 1972. At that time it was the third shoe released under the newly-named sports brand Nike in 1973, originally designed as a basketball shoe. Special details on the Nike Blazer Low 1972 include a Sail base constructed out of leather and suede offset by the Red on the Swooshes and heel. Defining features include the stacked Swooshes on the side panels and the psychedelic branding on the tongue labels and heels. Sail laces, a Pink/Purple trim on heels, the Black mini Swoosh on the lateral toe and a White rubber sole round out the main features of the shoes.
