A signature sneaker of Penny Hardaway, the popular Nike Air Foamposite One has been treated in a new finish this year, specifically paying homage to the city of Tianjin, China.
A metropolis located in northern China, Tianjin and basketball has deep roots, as the sport was first introduced to the city during 1895, and has since been the leader of fostering the growth of basketball in China. With the Nike Air Foamposite One noted as a favorite by many, this particular revision inherits captivating Chinese artwork across its entire upper, featuring Lotus flowers and scales of a Koi fish – both of which hold symbolic values in Chinese culture.
Further detailed with bright Pink accents depicting traditional Chinese New Year greetings “Prosperity Through the Years” at its heel and insole, a tonal outsole rounds out the sneaker for a bold finish, as its overall palette reflects the long history of Tianjin and its culture perfectly.
Scheduled to debut exclusively at Nike China retailers on February 7th, a worldwide release has not been officially announced as of yet. Stay tuned in to KoF for more.
