The Familia x Nike SB Dunk Low “First Avenue” is a collaboration by the Minneapolis-based skate shop. Intended to commemorate the city’s live music venue located at 701 First Avenue North, the SB Dunk dons stealthy makeup with a brickwork detailing on the quarter overlays as a tribute to the building’s painted brick exterior. Additionally, a star perforated toe box symbolizes the 500 past venue performers covering the building.
Other notable elements consist of 3M reflective Swooshes and heels, wear-away uppers that reveal the color purple to match the laces as an homage to the venue’s most famous performer Prince, who was also from Minneapolis. Finally, special co-branded insoles that incorporate the venue’s signature checkerboard floor, and showcases the ticket to their first live show on April 3rd, 1970 — completes the theme nicely.
