Making its return for the first time in 15 years, the exclusive CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” pays homage to CLOT’s Chinese roots and is inspired by “Chi,” the spiritual energy that flows through the human body and connects it with the universe, as well as the ancient Chinese art of pressure points — the 2021 retro is draped in the familiar “Net/Deep Red-Orange Blaze” color scheme. The runner’s premium makeup consists of suede uppers with snakeskin Swooshes, ostrich skin on the heel, and a transparent TPU-like vamp. Additionally, acknowledgement of the human foot anatomy is prominent on the pressure point-displaying insoles, as well as the lack of sock liners.
In celebration of Air Max Day, this version of the “Kiss of Death” Air Max 1 comes with a few notable changes such as a perforated toe, reflective heel tab and new graphics for the insole and outsole. Clot also enlisted 4PK’s Chef in the campaign further highlighting the sneaker’s Chinese traditional medicine inspirations.
