The Air Jordan 1 Los Primeros comes with a Black upper covered in a tonal graphic print that is subtle and busy at the same time. Offsetting the tonal look of the upper (and sole) is the multicolored illustration noted on the tongue, toe box and insoles. The shoe is designed by Brazilian artist Thales “POMB” Fernando, which is the reason why you see the word “Pomb” written on the heel. Black laces, a Black sole and White Nike Air on the tongue complete the look of the shoe.
The design was inspired by “roots” a manifestation of who we truly are, our ethos. It represents our history, the richness of our culture, myths and diversity. Everything is intertwined in the roots of our essence: indigenous people, Africans, immigrants. From the beautiful and unique nature, to the concrete jungle metropolis, it all makes us who we are today. Pomb believes it’s under our skin and intrinsic to our souls.
